ESTHETICS PROGRAM |
|
The beauty market is a constantly growing sector for 40 years. This boom in growth is attributed to an increasing population and the rising demand for skin treatments for medical and cosmetic purposes.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the job outlook for estheticians is very favorable, with an expected growth of 38% between 2008 and 2018.
Specifically, Estheticians keep skin healthy through skin care and cosmetic treatments. They perform skin treatment and cleansing procedures. This work includes waxing, massages, hair removal, light therapy and facials.
Estheticians are also skilled at selecting and applying makeup for clients to enhance features and hide skin issues.
Today's estheticians can be found in resorts, day spas, salons, department stores, and medical spas, working along side plastic surgeons and dermatologists. Estheticians may be self-employed, too.
Skin care professionals enjoy unlimited income potential, job security, and flexible hours, and this growing industry needs more salon professionals than can be supplied.

From this new perspective, professional skin care has emerged from what traditionally has been a minor role in the U.S. beauty market to become the focus of many business opportunities.
